Want ultra HQ audio from YouTube? Introducing the Muziic Encoder
Posted March 1st, 2009 by Mark

We’ve been more than happy with the reviews we’ve been getting about our new encoder. Everybody is hearing the difference that our Muziic Encoder makes. Thanks for all of the kind words! How do you re-encode something with little to no loss in sound quality? Most would say that it’s an impossible task - and I would typically agree with that.

The Muziic Encoder

Users have discovered a direct correlation in the file size of the final output and the bit rate of their original MP3. In other words, if you were to take an MP3 encoded at 320kbps and another at 128kbps, you would see that the file size would be much larger with the MP3 @ 320kbps - this is because the Muziic Encoder maintains your original MP3 bit rate. When you use our encoder, it’s almost as though you uploaded your original MP3! That’s why you shouldn’t really hear any loss with our encoding process.

Of course, YouTube does its own re-encode process once the video is uploaded. YouTube converts your video to two formats, both accessible through the Muziic Player. “Settings -> Standard” in Muziic Player delivers MP3 audio that is lower quality of the two. Standard is recommended for low speed internet connections where pausing in playback occurs. “Settings -> HQ Stereo? delivers high quality AAC stereo audio and is the recommended user mode for high speed internet connections experiencing no pausing in playback.

So there you have it! Here at Muziic, we’re striving for one thing: to be your choice for YouTube Music. How are we doing? Comments are welcome!
